Las Vegas is the perfect entertainment weekend. The beautiful thing is that you can plan your visit to fit most any fantasy. Take special care when selecting your hotel. Las Vegas boasts many top notch hotels, but the fun is in deciding where you want to say...in a circus tent (Circus Circus), a pyramid (Luxor), a castle (Excalibur), or maybe you want to stay in New York, Paris or Venice. All are possibilities.
As one time you had to see the Rat Pack or Peggy Lee, in another era, Sigfried and Roy or Celine Dion were must-sees. Now, Cirque du Soleil is an entertainment necessity. Again, you can choose depending on your tastes. O is the "water" show, Ka, the "fire" show. Zumanity is for the adults. Love features music of the Beatles. One will most definitely suit your tastes. Tickets can be pricey, but they are worth it. It'll be an experience you'll never forget.
Don't forget to take a trip downtown. You'll want to make sure you see the spectacular light show over Freemont Street. It plays several times nightly so there are plenty of opportunities to take it in.
For dining a buffet is essential. One of my favorites is at the Rio. If you're downtown, make sure to stop at the Station Casino. You' won't be disappointded.
When you're not gambling, make sure to take in the attractions at the various hotels. The Rio features a free overhead parade that is wonderfully fun. New York NY has a roller coaster (for a fee), the Sahara and Stratosphere also boast roller coasters for a fee. Treasure Island has the outdoor pirate show, Mirage has the volcano, Bellagio has the water fountains. Don't miss any of it as you walk down the strip.
Lastly, don't think Las Vegas has to cost a lot. If you can travel on short notice, keep your eyes open for air and hotel packages. They can be had for practically a steal.
If you're gambling, do it sensibly. Set your limits and have fun. |
